Job Summary

At Stock & Brew, the Assistant Manager is a hands-on leader who sets the tone for hospitality, accountability, and operational excellence. This role supports the Director of Food and Beverage Services in leading daily café operations while creating a warm, inviting guest experience in both our main café and expanded gallery space. The Assistant Manager leads from the floor — ensuring service standards are upheld, zones are maintained, inventory is stocked, and the café is guest-ready from open to close. This position requires weekend availability and includes overseeing speakeasy operations two days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily cafe operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards and efficient workflow
  • Act as Manager on duty when present.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking processes, and food safety compliance in accordance with health regulations
  • Train, mentor, and develop staff to enhance their skills in food service, customer interaction, and operational procedures
  • Assist in shift management by coordinating staff schedules and ensuring optimal coverage during peak hours
  • Monitor food production to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
  • Support budgeting activities by controlling costs related to food, beverage, and labor
  • Ensure high standards of hospitality management by delivering excellent customer service experience.
  • Collaborate with management on restaurant management initiatives including catering, banquets, or special events.

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within casual dining or quick service environment.
  • Knowledge of restaurant management operations including shift management, budgeting, and food service management
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse guest needs professionally
  • Culinary experience complemented by hospitality management knowledge; fine dining or hotel experience is advantageous
  • Effective communication skills for interviewing candidates and coordinating with team members
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
