- Set-up for event functions to include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks and putting out table centerpieces.
- Service includes picking up food from back-hall, carrying trays to function location, serve food and clear the food from the tables.
- Break down to include bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, vacuuming.
- Performs food & beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and ensuring workstations are stocked.
- Explains how various menu items are prepared, cooking methods and ingredients.
- Ensures final quality check on food and beverage items prior to and while serving guests.
- Monitors assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality, and additional service.
- Takes into consideration and forwards information to Banquet captains of any special request and dietary issues made by the guest.
- Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons).
- Must have TABC & Food Handler certifications.
- Able to communicate in the English language sufficient to understand job requests from supervisor, as well as understand menus, record orders/requests, and communicate with guest to explain orders.
- Work well in stressful high-pressure situations with a sense of urgency.
- Standing and extensive walking, up to entire shift, with frequent bending, squatting, and side-to-side movement.
- Able to extend arms; frequent bending and stooping and ability to carry and/or lift trays up to 20 lbs.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
- Prior customer service, hospitality and/or server experience preferred.

Houston Marriott Westchase Hotel is looking to hire several On-Call Banquet Servers to join our team
About Us: At Pyramid Global Hospitality, we believe in the power of our team members. We value, support, and recognize the unique contributions of each individual. By fostering a culture of growth and collaboration, we encourage our team members to excel.
Position Summary: This individual will help to set up and prepare the banquet room for banquet functions, serve food and bus tables, as well as clear and tear down banquet rooms at the end of the function.
Scheduling: This is an ON-CALL position that requires availability on any day of the week, including Saturday and Sundays.

The hotel operates seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. All employees, both management and hourly, should be aware of this fact and assist in other departments and/or job functions as needed and requested by management.
Qualifications
We offer our On-Call associates the opportunity to participate in the company 401k Retirement Plans after 90 days, with company match up to 6% and our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
