    Job DescriptionSalary:

    The Opportunity

    The Customer Support Specialist will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to assist customer issues.

    Count On To:

    • Work as an efficient team with Agent/Producer to assemble, market and place coverage, complete and submit applications to carriers for new clients.
    • Provides technical support to producers to benefit clients and to reach producer and agency's strategic business goals.
    • Reviews policies and all documentation for accuracy and quality standards; responsible for follow-up with carriers and clients.
    • Assists clients with coverage changes, certificate requests, binders and endorsements.
    • Assists clients in submitting first reports of claims, facilitates prompt response from carrier staff and follows up on claims status to keep insureds informed.
    • Reviews walk-in payments and verifies acceptability; processes, as appropriate, providing receipts to payers.
    • Manages non-renewals and cancellation requests in order to retain business where appropriate.
    • In-depth knowledge of current computer system functions, input procedures, codes and how to perform technical tasks to expedite client service.
    • Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Actively licensed Producer for Personal Lines, Property & Casualty depending on the assigned book of business.
    • Strong customer service focus with a highly professional attitude and approach to business
    • Full knowledge of business insurance markets and products including rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and write assigned client and prospect lists.
    • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of agency management software and insurance rating software; proficient in Microsoft Suite office software; working knowledge of Applied EPIC.
    • Must possess strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
    • Must have the ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced team environment
    • Must have the ability to maintain a cordial and professional relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
    • Ability to interact with others effectively by utilizing good communications skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the agency and producer.
