    Position Summary:


    The Senior Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization and applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and review of financial records.


    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:


    Performs Cash Management operations involving payment receipt, processing, deposits and other duties to ensure that all bank transactions are processed accurately and timely into the accounting system.

    Manage credit card applications and charges and employee expenses.
    Ensure activity for assigned accounts/areas are recorded in conformity with Company policy and U.S. GAAP.
    Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, accruals and prepaid expenses.

    Assist in the development and/or enhancement of policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the accounting function and organization.

    Assist in the maintenance of key financial systems including Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Management Reporter.
    Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
    Assists in preparation for financial and bank audits.
    Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    Collaborate with various functional departments as appropriate.
    Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company.
    Develops and maintains working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the Company.
    Maintains patient confidentiality and functions within the guidelines of HIPAA.
    Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
    Maintains compliant with AdaptHealth's Compliance Program.
    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

    Education and Experience Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field is required; MBA preferred
    Five (5) years of progressive accounting or finance experience

    CPA professional certification is preferred

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:
    Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, stand, and sit for extended periods.
    Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands and/or fingers due to extensive computer use.
    Work environment may be stressful at times, as overall office activities and work levels fluctuate
    Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen
    Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
    Ability to utilize a personal computer and other office equipment
    Must be able to lift 30 pounds as needed.
