    We are looking for an experienced
    Project Manager to be responsible for management and delivery of major capital projects. This position will be responsible for project ideation, scoping, planning, and execution within Croda and Avanti's governance systems.

    This role will require a highly competent individual that can function in a highly visible role to deliver results to major capital project challenges.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Otherduties may be assigned.
    Identify and capture new project opportunities.
    Develop project execution plans, manage issues and risks, drive issue resolution, and direct resources to deliver successful projects.
    Ensure adequate tracking and reporting controls are established to evaluate the project's progress and schedule performance.

    Track and communicate project status, risks, and key milestones t internal project stakeholders, and adjust project plans, budget request and/or resources as required to meet project requirements.

    Create detailed work breakdown structures for successful implementation strategies.
    Drive teams of responsible engineers, contractors, and other, less senior project professionals to achieve targets.
    Ensure accuracy of design information according to user requirement specifications and help define site standards for design basis.
    Required to be aware of current best practice in particular the utilization of costs / energy efficient materials.

    Collaborates with end users, stakeholders, and other department heads and key decision makers to ensure compliance to project scope and management of expectations.

    Provide clarity to project objectives, foster team development to meet expectations.
    Identify and source resources as required to satisfy execution needs.
    Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver pre-determined objectives as specified by more senior management.
    Participate in Safety, Health, and Environmental reviews, permit audits, and construction housekeeping inspections.

    Ensure that process hazard analysis open/action items are adequately addressed in engineering deliverables prior to full project funding and delivery.

    Applies comprehensive knowledge to act independently while providing guidance and training to others on using clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas, request actions, and formulate plans or policies.

    Works independently and provides guidance and training to others on analyzing data trends for use in reports to help guide decision making.


    Non-Essential Duties:
    Lead sustainability impact assessments.
    Participate in hazard and operability studies during detailed design.
    Contribute to RCA investigations for Contractor related injuries in the Construction execution phase of the project.

    Ensure permit to work, tool box talks, and other contractor orientation programs or practices are followed daily and contractors are controlling risk in execution.


    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    May or may not be required to manage staff, the nature ofwhich would be predominantly at the supervisory level. For more experiencedindividuals, this may involve performance appraisal, and recruitment. Howeverultimate responsibility for people management resides with the Manager.


    Education and Experience:
    B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
    Large Capital Project Experience
    Minimum 10 years of experience in capital project planning and execution

    Certificates,Licenses, Registrations:
    Professional Certification Preferred (i.e. registered professional engineer, construction manager, project management professional, etc)

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    Competent in core engineering disciplines.
    Knowledge of safe working practices related to Construction in OSHA 1926.
    Works effectively in a team environment.
    Ability to prioritize workload with competing priorities.

    Expertise with any of the following: process equipment, filling or packaging equipment, cleaning validation planning and execution, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), chemical process engineering and pharmaceutical process development.

    Working knowledge of FDA regulations, NFPA regulations, and OSHA regulations.
    Experience in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data and recommendations to management.
    Demonstrated technical/analytical skills and attention to detail.
    Required to document processes followed to ensure repeatability and verify accuracy of conclusions.
    Ability to interface with all levels in the organization.
    Ability to drive teams and suppliers to complete commitments and projects in a timely manner.

    Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel required: pivot tables and graphs; expertise with word-processing and presentation software with proficiency in PowerPoint to create and edit presentations.

    Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills.
    Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.

    Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, trending, and factor analysis.

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    Ability to interpret an extensivevariety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealwith several abstract and concrete variables.

    Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, theemployee is regularly required to talk, give oral instructions; listen and hearinstructions, customer and/or employee responses, etc.

    The position is activeand requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling and stooping all day.
    The employee must occasionally lift and/ormove items up to 50 pounds.
    WorkEnvironment - This job operates in a pilot plant and laboratorysetting.
    This job operates in aconstruction environment. This job may require work around organic solvents andcaustic materials. Ability to walk sit or stand for a minimum of 8 hours.

    May be required to move throughout productionareas on uneven surfaces, climb ladders and/or stairs and be exposed to outsideweather conditions for extended periods.

    Travel Requirements - This job may involve occasional business travelto other Croda and contractor sites, both in the US and international.
