Senior Security Architect, Research and Threat Mitigation

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Security Architect, Research and Threat Mitigation to join our innovative Rimini Protect Security Services team. This essential role will report directly to the Sr. Director, Threat Intelligence and Client Security Services, and qualified candidates can enjoy the flexibility of remote work from anywhere within the United States.

Position Summary:

The Senior Security Architect will play a pivotal role in researching threats, vulnerabilities, and weaknesses related to the products and services we offer at Rimini Street. You will collaborate with the Rimini Protect team to determine the applicability of identified weaknesses and exposures, devise appropriate mitigations, and assist in documenting these strategies. Additionally, you will develop custom security rules and contribute to the creation of innovative security solutions and controls for our clients to proactively address vulnerabilities, including 0-day threats. Other responsibilities include partnering with Client Success Managers (CSM) to conduct and review security audits of customer ERP solutions and database environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research on security vulnerabilities and their underlying causes.
• Analyze diverse datasets to produce clear and concise reports for executive-level decision-making.
• Review and provide recommendations for enhancing security practices.
• Assess complex business and technical requirements and communicate security risks and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Assist in the design, implementation, and assessment of security-focused tools and services.
• Develop logic (rules and signatures) and hardening configurations to reduce vulnerability risks.
• Stay abreast of emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and controls.
• Promote security awareness and advocacy for customer trust.
• Provide leadership in the development and execution of innovative security solutions and controls.
• Offer constructive feedback to security solution providers and advise on product enhancements.
• Other job-related duties may be assigned.
• Conduct comprehensive security assessments for customers and prospects across varied ERP environments.

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Security Certification required (e.g., CISA, CEH, CISSP, CRISC, etc.) or in progress.

Experience:

• 10+ years of progressive responsibility in information security.
• Familiarity with industry and regulatory standards such as ISO, NIST, SOX, PCI, and Privacy Shield.
• Highly technical and hands-on experience is essential.
• Strong project-related experience and expertise in risk management and business risk analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of current security threats, trends, and suitable mitigations.
• Experience in designing and delivering enterprise-level security controls.
• Skilled in performing audits and reviews of ERP systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing.

Desired Skills:

• Proficiency in open-source security solutions (e.g., Burp Suite, Kali Linux, Metasploit, etc.).
• Experience with firewalls and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
• Knowledge in hardening Java JRE and JVMs, Apache, and experience patching software.
• Database experience with Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, HANA, and DB2.
• Application knowledge in SAP, EBS, OBIEE, BI Publisher, JD Edwards, Siebel, and Hyperion is a plus.
