    A leading CPA firm on the South Shore of Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its client-focused team environment We are looking for an experienced accounting professional with a strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and FASB implementations, as well as familiarity with accounting issues associated with governmental and quasi-governmental agencies. Our ideal candidate will have direct experience working with state and local governmental agencies. You should be comfortable spending time on-site at such agencies and following specific examination programs for review of accounting activities. You should be able to work directly with senior accounting personnel and director level management at such agencies.

We primarily work with small businesses across many industries, governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, and related individuals. We offer bookkeeping, tax compliance, preparation of compilations and reviews, and cash flow planning, as well as general business consulting services.

    How You'll Contribute:

    Conduct monthly reviews of accounting procedures at a series of governmental agencies.

    Assist agencies with annual financial audit process and work directly with outside CPA audit firm.

    Assist agencies with preparation of financial statements in accordance with GASB.

    What You'll Bring:

    3-5 years of experience as an Accounting Professional

    Experience preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP and GASB

    Accounting degree is preferred, although significant work experience in lieu will be considered

    Advanced skills using QuickBooks, Sage, Excel, Word, and Outlook required

    Familiarity with other accounting programs and tax software preferred

    Excellent attention to detail

    Strong written and oral communication skills

    Strong desire to learn and grow professionally
