    LTC Pharmacy Technician - Returns



    Shift: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday

    Qualifications

    What you'll do a Returns Technician:

    • Sort and organize items returned from the facilities.
    • Handle and process returns, credits, and the destruction of medications according to state and federal regulations and company procedures.
    • Ensure medications destroyed are placed in the appropriate waste bin for destruction.
    • Check returned drugs for expiration date.
    • Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA, FWA, OSHA
    • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to ensure resident's rights are protected.
    • Return any unused medications (per policy) to the appropriate pharmacy location.
    • Keep the credits and returns area orderly and clean at all times.
    • Other duties as directed.

    What we need:

    • Current unencumbered license in the state of practice: Certified Pharmacy Technician (certification not required for Illinois Pharmacy Technicians licensed before 2008).
    • High School diploma or graduate equivalent degree. College preferred.
    • Warehouse and/or pharmacy experience preferred.
    • Excellent communication skills, including ability to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
    • Accurately perform basic math functions.
    • Knowledge of medication brand/generic names and medical terminology.
    • Sitting, standing, walking; at desk, in office throughout facility and pharmacy.
    • Operation of office machinery and Pharmacy equipment.
    • Be able to lift/move items up to 40 pounds.
    • Computer skills, including familiarity with Windows and knowledge of or ability to master inventory control software and scanning.
