Nursing Assistant - Full Time Overnights in Advanced Acute Care Medical Oncology Unit

This is a full-time night shift position with Geisinger Health System. The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care, performs clerical duties and assists with problem solving.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care as directed, within the nursing assistant scope of practice, in meeting the multidisciplinary care plan established for each patient.
• Identify, observe, and document the physical needs of the patient according to established standards.
• Obtain and maintain the integrity of specimens in accordance with policy and procedure, according to physician order.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and fulfill designated and delegated responsibilities for ongoing continuum of care.
• Perform point of care patient testing and point of care instrument maintenance and quality control.
• Assist in problem solving, trouble shooting and taking corrective measures in care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Participate in obtaining and communicating electronic information as pertinent to the nursing unit.
• Communicate with food services to ensure appropriate patient diets.
• Operate, problem solve, and take corrective measures for clerical equipment.
• Transport non-controlled medications as necessary to meet the needs of the clinic or unit.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience (preferred)
