    HDR is looking for a GIS Analyst to join our team developing and implementing geospatial solutions for transportation clients and projects.

    Duties include working in a professional environment with a team of engineers, environmental scientists, and transportation planners.

    The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical, is required.

    Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of GIS, expertise with Esri software, both desktop and web/mobile.

    We are interested in someone who is passionate, self-motivated, and has a strong desire to research, learn, and grow as a GIS professional; someone who can appropriately apply technology to solve problems and provide services to our clients.

    Successful candidates will possess cartographic proficiency and be able to develop database schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals and efficiently use web resources to research and problem solve.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Independently conduct advanced spatial analyses using ArcGIS software from Esri and work with project managers and clients to design and effectively employ GIS on transportation planning projects.

    Develop and support web GIS applications leveraging Experience Builder, Story Maps, Field Maps, Survey 123, and other tools within the ArcGIS Online platform.

    Create maps, databases, and other deliverables on short notice.
    Develop geodatabase schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals.
    Develop vector and raster spatial analysis models using Spatial ModelBuilder, Python or other GIS scripting languages.
    Communicate and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical.
    Perform quality control checks.
    Perform other duties as needed.
    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications
    BA/BS in Geography, Geospatial Science, Geographic Information Systems, Planning, Environmental Sciences, or relevant field.
    A minimum of 3 years of practical GIS experience

    Extensive experience with Esri Desktop ArcGIS software (Pro and Desktop), scripting and extensions (ModelBuilder, Python, Spatial Analyst, 3d Analyst, Linear Referencing, etc.)


    Extensive experiencing with ArcGIS Online platform and associated products such as Experience Builder, Story Maps, Field Maps, and Survey123
    Extensive experience in map generation and data visualization.
    Expertise with developing geodatabases and schemas (domains, subtypes), Access/SQL and other databases.
    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Ability to multi-task and stay organized. Highly responsive to requests from clients.
    Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
    Preferred Qualifications
    Experience working with transportation datasets from state and local government sources.
    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and effective time management.
    Experience using Adobe Illustrator or related graphic software for enhancing quality of GIS maps.
    Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal for ArcGIS Server preferred.
    Experience in scripting, database management, and software development is a plus.
    Local candidates preferred.
