    Special Education/Exceptional Children Teacher

    Location:

    Cornelius, NC

    Overview:

    We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Lakeside Charter Academy in Cornelius, NC.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the varying learning styles and abilities of students
    • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and technologies to engage students in meaningful learning experiences
    • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and other specialists to support student learning and development
    • Manage a caseload of 14-15 students
    • Paraprofessional will be provided for support

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
    • Valid North Carolina Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for certification
    • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment
    • Knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive behavior support strategies

    Compensation:

    • Estimated annual salary: $55,000 - $75,000 dependent on experience and expertise
    • Weekly direct deposits
