- Operate Horizontal Directional Drill for the installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, which includes fiber optic cable
- Ensure public and underground utilities safety
- Adhere to prescribed safety procedures and utilize appropriate safety gear
- Prepare and clean up work sites, including traffic and pedestrian control
- Interpret utility locates and coordinate facilities' daylighting
- Verify completion of all relevant permits and locates on-site
- Inspect ongoing work to ensure compliance with specifications
- Utilize construction equipment to align, maneuver, and adjust machinery to meet grade specifications
- Level terrain to specified final grade
- Operate various vehicles and equipment as instructed and certified
- Conduct routine maintenance, including greasing, oiling, and performing minor repairs on equipment
- Effectively lead field teams when necessary and as directed by supervisors
- Demonstrated emphasis on safety in daily operations
- Proven history of delivering work of exceptional quality
- Proficient problem-solving skills with a hands-on work approach
- Interest in long-term projects
- Enjoy working collaboratively with your team
- 3 years of experience in Horizontal Directional Drilling
- Specific expertise in rock drilling using Ditch Witch rock drills
- Skilled in working with AT 120
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain a CDL class A driver's license within 30 days of employment
- Familiarity with various sizes of Vermeer or Ditch Witch units and different locator equipment brands
- Experience in underground construction and Fiber builds
- Knowledge of City, County, and State clearance codes and related regulations
- Proficient in interpreting maps, drawings, and diagrams for project construction processes
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake overtime as needed
