    Description

    Job Summary:

    This is a salary, exempt position for an Industrial Construction Senior Estimator based out of our Salt Lake City corporate office, reporting directly to the Preconstruction Manager. Competitive pay, 401K match program, medical/ dental/ vision insurance with HSA option, paid vacation, and life insurance.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete estimates using our Excel based estimating program
  • Perform quantity take-offs
  • Present estimates to management committee
  • Help write proposals
  • Occasionally attend bid walks
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate methods
  • Provide quality project turnovers from estimating to the field
  • Other various job duties as assigned by management

    • Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years estimating construction projects
  • Industrial construction background is preferred
  • Ability to read and understand orthographic, isometric, and P&ID drawings
  • Considerable knowledge of structural steel, piping, and mechanical work
  • Knowledge of field installations and best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using estimating software is a plus
  • Experience using P6 scheduling software is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to communicate with customers and management in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently/ multitask with little supervision, as well as work effectively as part of a team
  • Dedicated to quality, hardworking, highly skilled, and of good character
  • A valid driver's license is required upon hire and as a condition of continued employment
  • Knowledge to apply Federal, State and Company safety requirements to job-site practices
  • High School diploma
  • Must speak English
  • Possess good communication skills, i.e., written, verbal and listening
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and organize tasks in an efficient manner in order to meet deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate competency in adapting to change
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to devote time to training programs
