Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive systems. Your expertise will ensure that equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our operations across multiple sectors including construction, agriculture, and transportation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery and utilize your mechanical talents to keep our fleet and equipment in top condition.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment, farm machinery, and automotive systems using schematics and electrical testing tools.
- Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools to meet repair specifications.
- Maintain and service machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial equipment with precision.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues involving wiring diagrams and schematics; perform electrical repairs including soldering and electrical component replacement.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including tire service, alignment checks, air brake inspections, and vehicle maintenance to prevent future breakdowns.
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and automotive repair.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems like Caterpillar or similar brands.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals; ability to interpret complex diagrams for troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools is essential.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, air brakes, suspension components, and tire service.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; comfortable working in physically demanding environments.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
