    Basic Function


    LyondellBasell is seeking an engineer to support our strong growth and expansion in basic polymers and polymer recycling research and development. This position will support the catalyst development, analytical testing, physical testing, and polymer processing laboratories.

    The position will function as a subject matter expert for process and operations engineering.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Provide process engineering and operations engineering support for laboratories.
    • Perform engineering design for small projects and coordinate engineering design for larger projects.
    • Lead capital and expense projects.

    Min. Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering . Degree can be in mechanical or chemical engineering or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience is required, preferably in the Polyolefins industry.
    • Engineering skills in process control, polymer processing equipment, and process design along with a strong Safety attitude.
    • Strong presentation and reporting skills.
    • Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
    • Experience with National Instruments hardware/software (LabView) and Wonderware is a plus.
    • Ability to communicate with organizational and cultural sensitivity.
    • A high level of mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills – willing and able to directly work on equipment.
    • A high level of problem-solving ability.
    • Routine project management skills (time management, prioritization, and communication)
    • Ability to lead and influence others without direct reporting responsibility (strong interpersonal skills)
