    Burnham Commerical is looking for an Electro-Mechanic


    Since 1873, Burnham Corporation, and now, Burnham LLC, doing business under the name "Burnham Commercial", has produced steam and hot water boilers for commercial and industrial applications.

    Located at 1239 Harrisburg Pike, in Lancaster, PA, Burnham Commercial's facilities have gone through numerous expansions and changes, since its original construction in 1923.

    Today, the facilities continue to produce high quality products for its customers.

    Burnham Commercial offers a full line of scotch, firebox, and cast iron boilers ranging from light commercial to industrial sizes in order to meet its customers' needs and is a leading manufacturer and marketer of high-quality boilers and control systems for commercial and industrial applications.


    Summary:
    This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Sunday - Thursday, 9:30 PM - 6 AM, Overtime and Saturdays as needed.

    Under limited supervision, installs, maintains, and adjusts all electrical equipment in good repair. Assists in planning major work projects. Specifies material as required to complete assigned work. Instructs and trains other maintenance personnel.

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to possess, troubleshoot, repair, or maintain the following:


    Installs and repairs electrical equipment such as PLC controlled equipment, CNC controlled equipment, Relay controlled equipment, transformers, switches, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, conduit systems or other electrical equipment.

    Works from blueprints and wiring diagrams to locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical equipment. Requires the use of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing equipment. Selects proper materials for job and orders items if not in stock.
    Repairs machinery and mechanical equipment.

    Trouble-shoots equipment to diagnose the problem; dismantling the equipment completely or in part and performing the necessary repairs that involve the use of hand tools in replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock or ordering the proper items from the supplier.

    Reassembles equipment, making proper adjustment to insure proper operation of the equipment.
    Reads blueprints of machinery and equipment to determine location of machinery parts, their orientation and proper adjustment. Must be capable of producing parts from blue-prints.
    Keeps buildings and structures in repair
    Makes repair parts as needed using machine tools such as: lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.

    Uses micrometers and other standard measuring instruments to work to specified tolerances to assure proper fit and operation of the repair part.


    Installs machinery and equipment including:
    rigging, moving, placement, and leveling of equipment prior to its hookup for operation.
    Builds jigs and fixtures as required
    Installs and repairs piping systems such as water, steam, and compressed air. Uses plumbers' tools and equipment to perform required work.

    Education and/or Experience:

    High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); two to four years of formal trades training (i.e., welding, machining, HVAC, electrical, etc.); or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Language Skills:
    Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

    Ability to compute rates.

    Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills:
    Basic knowledge; ability to operate controls panel and keyboard


    Certificates, Licenses Registrations:
    Forklift license


    Other Skills and Abilities:
    Complicated Blue Print or Drawing reading; use and understanding of measuring devices; use of precision measuring instruments;

    Safety Requirements:

    Protective Footwear Ansi Z41 Class 75, hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, neoprene/insulated gloves for filling LP cylinders and cloth or leather work gloves.

    Crane training is required.

    The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with mechanical assisted devices.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.

    While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
