- Three years of experience in grain merchandising, purchasing, risk management, or similar roles
- Trading and risk management in a grain processing environment
- Leadership experience in work direction or scheduling
- Executing futures, options, and derivative trades for risk management
- Managing high volume commodity production inventory
- Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers
- Knowledge of the ethanol industry and local trade areas

Position Overview
The merchandiser role involves commodity trading, risk management, and customer development activities crucial for HLCP's success. Tasks include merchandising physical commodities, executing trades to manage margins, analyzing market conditions, and fostering strong customer and supplier relationships.
The primary responsibilities include engaging with others in a warm, enthusiastic manner, working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and collaborating with team members to achieve goals. If you thrive in such settings, this position may be a great fit for you.
Work hours are typically Monday to Friday during standard business hours, with occasional additional hours as needed.
Travel:
Regular travel between the ND ethanol facilities and off-site events/meetings is expected. Most travel occurs during the day, with limited overnight stays. The main office could be either at the Spiritwood or Underwood location.
