Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Location (Client Site):  Nacogdoches Medical Center, 4920 NE Stallings Drive, Nacogdoches, TX 75965 

Pay: $18 - $19 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday - Fridays, normal business hours (may be asked to work outside standard hours, if business requires)

The Opportunity

Vanguard Resources, Inc. (VRI), an industry-leading, Facilities Management company, in operations 30 years, is currently recruiting for a TEMPORARY, Facilities Maintenance Technician within a hospital-setting.  

The Job

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of buildings, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient environment. This role involves routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and responding to repair requests across various facility systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will keep job site/area clean, safe, and organized.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing windows, doors, walls, and other structural elements.
• Address plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, and fixture replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, outlets, and lighting systems.
• Maintain HVAC systems to ensure proper climate control.
• Apply preventive measures to reduce future maintenance issues
• Identify and fix safety hazards to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Paint and refurbish surfaces as needed.
• Schedule and coordinate repairs with external contractors, hospital staff & deptarment leadership, when necessary.

Work Environment

• May involve working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
• Requires physical activity such as climbing, lifting, and kneeling.
• Occasional exposure to hazardous materials or equipment.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

• Relevant experience - in building maintenance or a related field.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Be comfortable working with computer/technology.

Requirements

• Must successfully pass criminal background check.
• Must successfully clear a 10-panel pre-employment drug screen. 
• Must comply with required health screenings and vaccines.
• Must possess a valid/unexpired state-issued driver's license; in good standing with a clean driving record; along with reliable transportation to get to and from work
• Possess a great attitude, eager to learn, dependable
• Have ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in crawlspaces, hot/cold conditions

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of Facilities Maintenance Technician, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; in outside weather conditions; and with explosives and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
