    Job Summary


    The Marth lab at the University of Utah seeks a talented front-end web developer to join our burgeoning team to design, develop, and implement software as part of our iobio web tool system (see ) designed to enable those without computational expertise to access, analyze, and interpret genomic data.

    An ideal candidate for this position would have knowledge of standard web development concepts, practices, and procedures; and experience with the Vue or React Javascript frameworks, familiarity with d3 visualizations, strong git and source-control skills, and comfort working on the command line.

    More than raw development skills, our group values motivated individuals with a strong interest in biology and medicine, an ability to work independently, and an eagerness to learn about the rapidly-expanding, interdisciplinary field of bioinformatics.

    Responsibilities

    Front-end web development using the Vue Javascript framework

    Development of novel, interactive visualizations using the d3 Javascript library

    Utilization of Git source control and command-line basics

    Contributing to weekly discussions and input of novel project-related ideas

    Minimum Qualifications


    Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).

    2 years of experience in web software development or related area.


    Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

    Familiarity with Vue or React Javascript frameworks

    Exposure to d3 Javascript library and interest in data-driven visualizations

    Experience with git and GitHub or Gitlab
