    Manufacturing Competency Lead

    SUMMARY:

    As a Manufacturing Competency Lead, you will play a key role in training and education of technical skills in the production process. You'll provide technical coaching and insights to production and technician team members through training and finding opportunities for further development using resources such as POKA. You'll also provide leadership, guidance, and support of education and training methodologies within the Technical Training Center.

  • WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH:

  • Work cross-functionally with trainers and supervisors to develop training plans and facilitate onboarding and training materials with support of subject matter experts in area of responsibility.
  • Act as a subject matter lead in assigned area of responsibility to provide support, guidance, and coaching on competency building within operators and technicians using adult learning principles and training content creation.
  • Conduct training and progression evaluations for operators and technicians in area of responsibility with support of team leaders.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts in different disciplines across the factory to ensure accurate and comprehensive training materials for area of responsibility.
  • Become qualified to work as an operator in area of responsibility.
  • Ensure training documentation is validated, approved, and reviewed as part of the on-the-job training process.
  • Become certified to train on different new employee orientation courses such as Powered Industrial Truck (PIT).
  • Become a subject-matter-expert in using Education and Training Methodologies, supporting technical skill development on assigned shift.
  • Work autonomously to conduct and facilitate training while adapting to different learning styles.
  • Participate in all site Safety and Quality initiatives.
  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing or related industry experience required.
  • 1 year of training experience required. Training experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • YOU'RE A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills.
  • Proficiency with digital tools (tablet, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to influence and motivate a team of peers.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations processes (how upstream events affect downstream, inputs and outputs, performance)
  • Ability to plan and execute a training development plan.
  • Strong understanding of basic problem-solving techniques preferred.
