    Description

    Salary Range:
    $48,932 - $56,736, based on experience and demonstrated abilities. Benefits include paid holidays & leave time, NYS retirement, and health & dental insurance.


    Depending on location, this position may involve direct work with students with autism, emotional and/or developmental disabilities which may include, but are not limited to, oppositional and aggressive behaviors; mood disorders; and potentially severe and unpredictable physical and/or verbal outbursts.


    School Psychologists are expected to:

    • Ability to work with a diverse population of students
    . - Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.

    • Provide targeted interventions to teach social, emotional, behavioral regulation.
    • Provide group and/or individual counseling using evidencebased interventions.
    • Conduct initial evaluations, reevaluations, and Functional Behavior Assessments.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans and crisis management plans.
    • Collaborate and consult with communitybased providers, parents, component districts, colleagues and provide resources to meet student learning needs.
    • Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.
    • Record and report student progress.

    Job Qualifications

    NYS School Psychologist Certification

    Candidates should possess a broad skill set to engage learners of all levels including, but not limited to:

    • Knowledge of skills related to trauma, illness, grief, crisis intervention, identifying level of functioning for students.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Promoting equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments


    Job responsibility may require individual to do one and two person lifts and/or physical interventions on a daily basis with students weighing pounds.

    Position requires the successful completion of all elements of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training. W-FL BOCES provides Initial and refresher TCI Trainings
