    Job DescriptionJob summary
    Under supervision, maintains patient files and statistics, responds to requests for medical records, and performs clerical duties.

    Job responsibilities
    • Maintains patient files, files studies, files all patient data upon receipt of information, maintains filing statistics, and audits filing sequence.
    • Pulls charts for scheduled for laboratories, appointments with technician and physician. Also pulls charts for walk-in patients.
    • Preps charts for scheduled patients 2 days prior to appointment ensures all labs, specialist reports, etc are received and attached to chart for physician to review.
    • Responds to requests for medical records, processes letters and reports, answers and directs telephone calls.
    • Retrieves patient schedules from computer system and distributes lab reports to physicians.
    • Photocopy records and documents for billing and/or legal services, sends and receives information via fax machine. Send invoice for requests from attorneys offices.
    • Keep medical records area clean and organized.
    • Also assists in Front Desk tasks and scheduling appointments when necessary.

    Job Qualifications:
    • High school graduate
    • Medical office experience of at least 3 months
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
    • Computer skills
    • Organizational, interpersonal, telephone ettiquette skills
    • Ability to maintain records and files with confidentiality
    • Ability to exert physical effort maintaining and distributing files
