Americom Technologies Inc. is looking for A highly motivated individual to join our team as an underground utility's construction Superintendent.
Americom is the premier utility construction services provider in the western region providing directional drilling, plowing, trenching, spider plowing, hydro excavation, micro trenching, fast fusion, fiber optics and general underground utility construction.
POSITION SUMMARY
:
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing several different types of construction projects.
They will lead the project from initiation to close, hiring subcontractors, working with vendors, and tracking inventory of equipment and materials.
This person should be knowledgeable about regulations, permits and project management methodology.They should also work well with others, be highly organized, detail-oriented, meet deadlines, have exceptional communication, and strive to stay within budget.
The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for managing the Project Managers.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define the project scope of work to include risk assessment.
Create a construction estimate based on a material takeoff (MTO)
Create and manage a construction project budget.
Create a construction project management plan.
Negotiate with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors to obtain profitable construction contracts.
Develop a construction schedule, with project deliverables, milestones, with critical path.
Keep inventory of tools, equipment, and machinery
Manage resources such as construction materials, construction workers, and equipment.
Allocate and manage resource logistics.
Create status reports for project stakeholders and manage the relationships between all stakeholders for the project.
Oversee the performance of the site manager and other members of the construction team.
Obtain building permits, licenses, and meet code regulations.
Commitment to customer service and meeting deadlines.
Manage change orders and change of directives with the client.
Database management and detailed as-built record keeping.
Effective and frequent communication with members of the construction team.
Maintain a safe environment and ensure all safety standards are maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong team management and leadership skills.
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Project management skills such as time management, project budgeting, resource management and project scheduling
Situational intelligence to make quick decisions with minimal information.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Five years of project management experience in the construction industry or construction specialties such as utility construction, excavation, pipeline, and civil construction.
Prior experience managing a construction site.
Experience leading construction crews.
Proven risk management experience in construction projects.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field preferred
PMP certification desired, not required.
Strong knowledge of construction management best practices
Fluency in software programs related to construction management, including project management software.
Current with rules and regulations related to construction.
