    **Radiation Therapist Job Summary**

    We are seeking a Radiation Therapist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Northeast in Humble, Texas. This is a PRN position responsible for simulating treatment set-ups, performing dosimetric calculations, applying radiation therapy treatments and assisting with patient care management.

    Job Description:

    • Simulate treatment set-ups according to physician instruction.
    • Perform dosimetric calculations under the supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist, using either manual or computerized dose calculations.
    • Accurately deliver the prescribed course of radiation therapy.
    • Assist in Brach therapy procedures.
    • Warm up treatment machines/simulator and check all safety and operational procedures; report any erratic operation to the physicist.
    • Check the laser positioning to ensure proper alignment.
    • Verify dose through barometer and thermometer measurements; report any discrepancies to physicist.
    • Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
    • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; support department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serve as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
    • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Model Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
