Description

Performs skilled work at the journey level with installation, repair and maintenance of complex air-conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment. Receives assignments in the form of oral instructions/written work orders/sketches/blueprints. Applies knowledge of related practices, materials and tools used in industrial and commercial environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification, supplemented by a two (2) year technical/vocational A/C and Refrigeration program; minimum of two (2) years of experience in industrial/commercial A/C and Refrigeration OR completion of a four (4) year apprenticeship program in A/C and Refrigeration.

Necessary Special Requirement:
Must obtain Universal Certification in Transition and Recovery of Refrigerants within six (6) months of hire.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH:
Building automation systems/computerized controls; troubleshooting/repairing various electrical circuits; interpreting sketches/ blueprints/schematics; sheet metal/fiberglass duct/welding/soldering work

Also desirable:
Valid Universal Certification in Transition and Recovery of Refrigerants.

NOTE:
It is not necessary to submit another application for this position if you applied 1/29/2- 2/9/24.

Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Respiratory screen/chest x-ray and Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.

Will be required to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check in addition to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office background check prior to appointment.
