    We are currently seeking a creative, highly talented dynamic individual for the position of ProjectStructural Engineer for immediate employment in our Baltimore/Fairfax office Baltimore (preferred). Join our Journey

    As a full-service, multi-discipline engineering consulting firm, Our structural engineers deliver value through innovative solutions and quality designs we support our clients in many key areas including new building designs, existing building rehabilitation, Addition and alterations to the existing buildings, water and wastewater facility, transit stations, industrial facilities, underground structures, overhead water tanks, Embankments, retaining walls, condition assessments of the building and structures.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Perform and check structural design and analysis computations and perform finite element modelling.
    • Detail oriented with strong skills in steel, concrete and Masonry design. Wood design is a plus.
    • Prepare full structural design package such as contract documents such as floor plans, elevations, sections, details and specifications for buildings, water, wastewater, industrial structures, and other facility-related structures.
    • Prepare structural engineering calculations in support of structural engineering design for new construction and renovation projects.
    • Review construction documents such as shop drawings or contractor requests
    • Perform structural observations on new structures and write reports.
    • Perform condition assessments of existing structures and develop recommendations for necessary repairs and modifications, cost estimate and provide assessment reports.
    • Takes initiative to solve problems and research information.
    • Provide technical guidance to entry level engineers.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering is required. Masters degree is preferred. PE license required for Maryland or ability to obtained the license in the state of Maryland.
    • Proficient in structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System, ETABS, SAP2000, RISA 3D, or other software for structural design.
    • Experience and Knowledge in AutoCAD & Revit.
    • Knowledge of construction material and methodologies, experience in designing steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
    • Diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas related to structural analysis and design.
    • Knowledge of building codes, building design specifications, and regulations.
    • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
    • Ability to perform fieldwork, site visits, and inspections and perform temporary field support activities, when assigned for engineering support during construction.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Organized, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and modify priorities based on client requests and workload.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment and work with other Gannett Fleming structural teams in other offices.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
    • Schedule and budget-oriented ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
