    Job DescriptionOverall Purpose and Objective of PositionThis position is responsible for scheduling freight and servicing customers of liquid food and feed ingredients in North America, with a focus on product manufactured in Claypool, IN.

    Freight methods would span rail, bulk trucks, and dry vans to achieve the most efficient, cost effective, reliable and quality transportation while ensuring shipment timing meets the needed cadence for optimal inventory levels.

    This position would be responsible to develop key relationships with various carriers in order to maintain and/or improve our competitive position within our industries.

    This position would also have responsibility to help with negotiating and managing freight contracts with freight providers. This position would also perform various reporting tasks, communicating documents with customers, and any other customer service needs.

    Primary Responsibilities/Essential FunctionsGenerate load numbers for customer orders in a timely and accurate mannerSchedule orders with carriers and maintain schedule changesPrepare and organize paperwork needed for shipmentsTicket application for multiple products, freight matching, and filingCommunicate professionally with customers to coordinate deliveries in a timely mannerContribute to inventory management of LDC products (warehouse/tanks/rail cars/containers etc.)Coordinate quality requirements and issues from customers with LDC lab and operations teamAssist with setting up carriers and maintaining documents and certificatesUtilize multiple systems to maintain carrier and freight information to assist with the coordinating of logistics for multiple products for inbound and outbound shipmentsDevelop and maintain relationships with carriers, forwarders and warehousing providers as neededCommunicate with Quality and Food Safety team to ensure compliance with statutory and internal practicesWork with sales staff to ensure they have competitive transportation rates to accurately quote business for customers and manage existing business lanesCommunicate with sales team any info that is helpful to determine pricing, freight risk awareness, and customer performance concernsDevelop competence in LDC products' markets, product qualities, and transportation needsContribute to group discussions to improve processes and look for ways to elevate our business.

    Working ConditionsPrimarily climate-controlled office environment.

    Periodic visits to industrial operations areas are necessary with exposure during such visits to variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions.

    Interacts closely with personnel in other departments and company locations. Extension of regular working hours or weekend work are occasionally needed to complete time-sensitive work or respond to emergencies.
    Employee SupervisionNo supervisory responsibilitiesDecision Making/AccountabilityWould be responsible for coordinating delivery of a sale with little supervision. Would communicate any concerns or risks they become aware of promptly to the appropriate audience. Would need to prioritize personal workload throughout the day to ensure meeting of deadlines.

    Basic qualifications:

    Assocate's Degree in supply chain, industrial management, business, finance, or economicsOr, 2 years' experience in oilseeds, biodiesel, glycerin, lecithin, or logistics or supply chain managementPreferred qualifications:Shipping liquid food grade products, or freight forwarding experienceUnderstanding of transport equipment as it relates to bulk shipments i.e., isotanks, flexibags, tank trailers, etc.

    Understanding of IncotermsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)

    Basic qualifications:
    Strong practical accounting, analytical and organizational skills.
    Proficient on Excel and Office products.
    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    Ability to work independently.
    Ability to set deadlines and adhere to them.
    Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
