    Description
    Overview:

    The Electrical Controls Technician responsibilities include diagnosing, upgrading, and repairing ride electrical control systems. This is a Union position.


    Responsibilities:
    • Follow all company policies and safety rules
    • Maintain accurate work logs
    • Communicate with all levels of maintenance and other trades to solve problems.
    • Maintain parts inventory at each assigned location
    • Maintain parts inventory at each assigned location
    • Diagnose and repair DC drive controllers and DC motors
    • Must know how to use amp probe, digital volt meter, oscilloscope and other test equipment
    • Utilize ladder logic to diagnose electrical control system faults
    • Design PLC programs and electrical control systems; review and proof the same
    • Read schematics to solve electrical problems
    • Diagnose PLC (SLC500, PLC5, NUMA LOGIC) and relay logic electrical problems
    • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
    • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
    • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
    • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
    • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Qualifications:
    • Must join electrical union.
    • Associate degree in industrial or robotic control systems preferred.
    • High degree of computer literacy preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley, Icom software programs, hydraulic and pneumatic systems desirable.
    • Familiar with AutoCad and capable of drawing schematics.
    • Maintenance journeyman (Class A) preferred.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial control system experience preferred.
    • High school graduate/GED preferred.
    • Driver's License
    • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
    • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
    • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.#LI-UW1
