    About this Opportunity

    We are seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) professional to join our team at Stanford Health Care. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control across our hospitals and clinics.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and evaluate healthcare-associated infections (HAI) surveillance systems, special studies, and research projects.

    • Develop, implement, and monitor facility-wide programs for preventing HAIs among patients and personnel.

    • Analyze and interpret data from surveillance activities and identify trends.

    • Collaborate with SHC departments and other quality improvement committees to address infection prevention and control matters.

    • Represent SHC in community health agencies and other institutions to coordinate services for preventing and controlling infections.

    • Contribute to strategic initiatives, procedures, and processes for clinical regulatory and accreditation compliance.

    • Develop and oversee policies and procedures related to infection prevention and control.

    • Mentor and advise staff on infection prevention and control practices.

    • Oversee investigations, follow-up activities, and action plans in response to infection control outbreaks and events.

    • Lead work groups on assigned projects.

    • Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to develop and implement infection prevention and control activities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or closely related field. Master's degree preferred.

    • 5 years of clinical experience in Infection Prevention & Control or comparable leadership role.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Effective communication and presentation skills.

    • Ability to direct program development and implementation.

    • Leadership and influence skills.

    • Ability to mediate complex problems and issues.

    • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.

    • Medical terminology and related levels of care and treatment knowledge.

    • Principles and practices of organization administration, fiscal management, and personnel management.

    • State and federal regulatory requirements related to infection prevention and control compliance.

    • Data analysis and reporting practices pertaining to infection prevention and control quality improvement.

    Licenses and Certifications

    • CIC - Certified Infection Control preferred.
