    Summary


    The Psychiatry Program Lead is a clinician-leader in the Health Center who provides direct psychiatric patient care, supports psychiatry program development, and serves as a clinician voice in operational/administrative processes.

    The focus of this role is providing subject matter expertise in the area of psychiatric care for people who are currently experiencing or have experienced homelessness.

    The Psychiatry Program Lead is responsible for working collaboratively with clinic leadership, primary care clinicians and behavioral health clinicians to provide integrated, comprehensive care.

    Expectations include building new programs; enhancing existing services; collaboratively creating policies, procedures, and workflows; assuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and attending to the financial health of the Health Center.



    Essential Functions


    • Provides care to patients in clinic and documents care in Electronic Health Record in accurate and timely manner.
    • Assists with psychiatry program development, implementation, measurement and evaluation to ensure that patients receive the highest quality integrated care. Assists in evaluation of budgets and/or programmatic costs, as applicable.
    • Works closely with clinic leadership and primary care providers to support co-management of patients with psychiatric needs by primary care and psychiatry. This may include creating educational sessions, treatment protocols, systems for consultation and referral.
    • Provides clinic/staff education regarding psychiatry-related topics as needed.
    • Attends and participates in assigned operational and leadership meetings to support high-quality healthcare delivery and determine strategic priorities.
    • Participates as a clinician-leader in quality assurance/improvement meetings and processes to ensure quality care is provided to patients.
    • Collaboratively creates, edits, and maintains policies, procedures, and protocols that relate to clinical care.
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local standards in terms of clinical and operational regulations
    • On-time completion of assigned training and policies.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with a California license in good standing.
    • Board certification in Psychiatry.
    • Current DEA license.
    • At least 3 years of leadership experience in any setting.
    • At least 3 years of experience as a practicing psychiatrist providing services to underserved populations.
