Job summary
Provides support to youth by building trusting relationships Offers support and guidance to youth as they receive services Participates in one-on-one meetings or treatment team meetings to discuss ideas difficulties suggestions and expectations Provides social interaction both individually and as a group to develop social and recreational skills and to help participants develop insight into their mental illness Promotes recovery-oriented skills to help achieve goals created in the treatment plan Connects youth and young adults to community supports natural supports and additional programs Assists participants in developing empowerment skills through self-advocacy advocates on behalf of participant when needed Acts as resource safe person for youth approach questions concerns accomplishments Plans conducts peer support groups focusing topics related recovery Other tasks assigned supervisor Documents timely fashion per AltaPointe policy Documents legibly clear concise manner Documents individualized participant responses services provided Seeks supervision consultation needed Accepts employs suggestions improvement Actively works enhance skills Attends participates staff meetings required Treats participants care dignity compassion Respects privacy confidentiality Pleasant cooperative others Assists visitors needed Personal values don't inhibit ability relate care others Sensitive needs expectations individual differences Gentle calm with participants families Actively participates Performance Improvement activities Actively participates AltaPointe committees required Completes assigned tasks timely manner Follows AltaPointe policies procedures Attends appropriate in-services training workshops Has high school diploma equivalent Valid verifiable driver's license Good driving record Reliable transportation Verifiable vehicle liability insurance Ability work flexible hours evening weekend hours Ability attend DMH-approved Therapeutic Mentor training certification Knowledge psychiatric disorders youth/young adult population Knowledge cultural diversity Knowledge Alabama Department of Mental Health Medicaid standards Knowledge behavior management crisis intervention non-violent crisis intervention practices Knowledgerecovery-oriented treatment approach Able communicate effectively multi-disciplinary team Able connect youth/young adults share skills knowledge others Required certifications include CPR First Aid Child Adolescent Development Youth Worker Certification (YWC) Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC)
