Job Profile Summary
Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the Ph.D. Methodologist is to mentor and guides students to develop into scholars and methodologists during the dissertation phase, making it possible to contribute to advancing innovative theories. The students are encouraged to utilize qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research.
The qualified applicant will have an earned Ph.D. The applicant needs to have documented experience in any or all the following methodologies: qualitative, quantitative or mixed-methods research. The applicant will be expected to guide and mentor student methodology during the dissertation process. Online faculty must have regular access to and familiarity with the Internet/e-mail.
Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Mentor and guide students to develop into scholars and Methodologists during the dissertation phase.
2. Actively engage with students and follow up on emails in a prompt manner.
3. Grade assignments and leave substantive feedback.
4. Online faculty must have regular access to and familiarity with the Internet/e-mail.
5. Stay compliant on administrative tasks such as the Monday check–in, etc.
6. Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
7. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.
Qualifications, Credentials, and CompetenciesMinimum Qualifications:1. Ph.D. in a related field (with professional experience) required.2. Experience with a single methodology.Preferred Qualifications:1. Methodology experience in multiple methodologies.2. Three years or more of full-time online teaching experience at the graduate levels and a strong record of professional achievement.3. History of publication in academic or trade journals.
