    General Responsibilities:

    As a Residential and Consumer Loan Closing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing of loan transactions. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks to support both Residential and Consumer loan functions. You will coordinate effectively within the department and collaborate with other departments, as well as report essential information to your immediate supervisor and respond to inquiries or requests for information.

    Essential Duties:

    • Perform key tasks to support the loan documentation and processing functions, including:
    • Verify all loan information related to residential and consumer lending to prepare for final loan documentation.
    • Review loan application files to ensure completeness and compliance with established standards.
    • Collect and analyze data for reporting purposes, including CRA and HMDA compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to policies and guidelines for loan approvals.
    • Collaborate with Underwriting, Originating, Branch staff, and title companies to gather all necessary information based on loan type (e.g., Appraisals, Searches, Title work, Insurances).
    • Inform Originators and Underwriters of any discrepancies found in title searches or Appraisals.
    • Complete any necessary additional records related to processed loans, including amendments and modifications as needed.
    • Ensure all requisite information is obtained through various methods before preparing final loan documentation, such as Closing Disclosures.
    • Work with title companies to finalize Closing Disclosures and send completed loan packets.
    • Conduct a secondary review of other Loan Closer files for completeness and accuracy before packets are sent for closing.
    • Review executed loan documentation to confirm that all necessary signatures have been obtained and that the loan file is complete and accurate.
    • Verify Recorded Mortgage fees post-recordation to ensure any overpayments are refunded to the borrowers by the Bank or title company.
    • Process and mail all early disclosures for Home Equity Line of Credits.

    Ancillary Duties:

    • Perform supportive tasks that may be adjusted based on individual circumstances.

    Physical Requirements:

    This role requires various physical abilities, including the capacity to sit, stand, talk, hear, walk, use hands and fingers, handle objects, and reach. It may also require occasional stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Regular use of a computer is essential.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent.

    Skill(s): Strong communication skills, moderate interpersonal skills, proficient PC skills (including Microsoft Word and Excel), and a working knowledge of loan documentation are essential. Familiarity with documentation software such as LaserPro and MortgageBot is a plus.

    Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in related banking or loan processing positions is typically required.
