- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Louisiana
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) or related field
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in school settings preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other healthcare professionals
- Understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and experience in developing and implementing OT goals within an educational setting
- Knowledge of relevant local and state regulations governing the practice of Occupational Therapy in schools
- Conduct evaluations to assess students' motor and sensory skills, functional performance, and activities of daily living
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings and student needs
- Provide direct therapy services to students, including individual and group sessions, to address areas such as fine motor skills, sensory integration, handwriting, and activities of daily living
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate OT goals and strategies into the classroom and home environments
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings to review student progress, discuss goals, and make recommendations for ongoing services
- Provide training and support to teachers and staff on strategies to support students' occupational therapy needs within the school setting
