    Job Description:

    The Online Graduate Admissions Officer reports to the Director of Recruitment, Admissions & Onboarding.

    This position plays a critical role in the recruitment and application processes for online learners, serving as a point-of-contact for learners in fully online programs.

    This includes determining graduate admission requirements, transfer of credits, and residency for students enrolling in graduate programs. Helps support recruiting activities.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Coordinate and ensure the processing of applications in a timely manner. Track LSU Online applicants through the graduate enrollment funnel (admissions process) through reporting applications. This includes determining admissibility, transferability of credit, and residency for students in graduate programs (degree seeking and non-degree seeking).

    Serves as a liaison between prospective students and the academic departments regarding the status of their applications, admissions and enrollment.

    Works closely with LSU Online recruitment and retention teams to remove barriers and ensure a seamless onboarding experience. 30%

    Makes recommendations and keeps the procedures manual updated for the admissions processing area. Makes recommendations on procedures used to implement university rules from admissions through acceptance into the university. May serve as a trainer for the admissions unit and responsible for systems testing of admissions modules. 30%


    Utilizes technology systems to facilitate LSU Online Slate technical requests and track the recruitment and admission of prospective online learners, including a CRM, SIS, and other systems.

    This includes troubleshooting applicant and new online student admit issues, Slate account mergers, new admit registration holds, deferrals, modality changes, and LSU Online Team Dynamix (TDX) requests.

    Implements university policy regarding the conduct code, transcripts, and required admission documentation and ensures adherence to rules regarding university admission.

    Performs credential evaluations for international and domestic prospects. Enters student data and admission decisions into the appropriate systems.

    Meets with prospective students to explain graduate education, guide them through the admission and enrollment process, including directing them to other appropriate offices or departments on campus.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience

    Specific Experience: 1 year of professional experience in the higher education, admissions, student services or related field. Slate CRM and experience working in Student Information Systems preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Communication, Education, Business, or related field with 2 years of professional experience in the higher education, admissions, student services or related field

    Specific Experience: 2 years of Slate CRM and admissions experience. Ability to connect quickly and authentically with people form a variety of different professional and cultural backgrounds.

    Additional Requirements:
