Shipping and Receiving Manager

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Shipping and Receiving Manager to join their team

Responsibilities:

• Oversee work procedures, create schedules, and optimize workflow in the Shipping and Receiving Department. Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques, ensure quality, reduce costs, achieve timely delivery, uphold safety standards, enhance customer satisfaction, manage employee relations, maintain visual controls, and monitor plant performance metrics.
• Supervise departmental activities under the guidance of the Logistics Manager, adhering to established procedures.
• Coordinate departmental tasks to fulfill sales orders and meet delivery deadlines, demonstrating flexibility in managing multiple priorities and adapting to changes.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and equipment, with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Maintain regular communication with maintenance staff regarding equipment repair and maintenance needs.
• Enforce safety protocols and incident reporting procedures, escalating issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Optimize material requirements to increase inventory turnover and decrease on-hand inventory levels.
• Provide leadership in problem-solving to foster rapid improvements and enhance working relationships.
• Identify and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects, issuing instructions to staff, assigning duties, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Foster unity among workers and promptly address grievances.
• Assess employees' skills and provide coaching and counseling as necessary.
• Conduct annual performance review and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
• Conduct weekly safety meetings; monitor quality of work performed in accordance with the company's Quality Plan.
• Plan daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly productions to meet the completion dates as stated on the New Generation Operation Schedule (NGOS) report; review and update NGOS schedule, as needed.
• Plan for the number of people required per position in accordance with the budget.
• Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.
• Collaborate with other shop managers to coordinate production, inventory management, and quality assurance efforts.
• Ensure accurate shipment of international orders.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Demonstrate cooperative teamwork and respectful interaction with various stakeholders.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with departmental colleagues.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum 5 years in general management experience in a manufacturing environment required.
