Job SummaryJob DescriptionBakken Overview The Bakken trend is a sequence of liquids-rich sand and shale layers in the Williston Basin, which stretches across western North Dakota and into Canada.
The company's position in the Bakken development area is comprised of approximately 560,000 net acres, which include 382,000 net mineral acres and 178,000 net leasehold acres.
The company focuses on unconventional tight-oil play development and production in the most prolific portion of the basin.During 2022, net production averaged 95 MBOED.
There were 43 operated wells brought online during 2022, bringing the total to more than 800 operated wells online at year-end.
DescriptionIf you are selected as the Multi-Skill Operator (MSO) for the Bakken, you will be responsible for monitoring and improving production.
You will perform most of your responsibilities at the well site via a company provided vehicle.You will be a Safety Leader and drive ConocoPhillips' commitment to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE).This position can be based in Watford City, ND; Williston, ND; Alexander, ND; Arnegard, ND; Grassy Butte, ND; Sidney, MT; or Fairview, MT.While oil and gas experience is preferred, those with strong mechanical reasoning and comprehension, and interest in outdoor lone-work can be trained.

Accessing remote locations to check wells, maintain normal operating levels, pressures and flow on separation equipment, adjusting automatic and manual controlsInspecting gas and oil wells, tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and attached piping components for leaks or unusual conditions and taking corrective actionsGauging tanks for sale or transfer of crude oil and waterOperating and troubleshooting rental compressors, flowing gas wells, gas lift wells, testing wells and operation of sand traps and flow back equipmentMaintaining chemical injection rates, start up, and shut in wellsEntering production data into computer databases and reviewing outputs for correctnessExecuting new facility walk-throughs, management of changes (MOCs), and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs)
Regulatory work including agency testing requirements, change of status, tank & meter numbering for new facilitiesUpdating piping & instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and site security diagrams for all new wells and facilitiesResponding to alarms after hours or when on callImplementing all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures outlined in the ConocoPhillips Management SystemBasic/Required:
