  • Overview

    Responsible for coordinating efforts related to The Joint Commission, regulatory compliance and patient safety best practices to maintain continuous service and survey readiness; updating and internally communicating changes to standards and performance requirements; tracking organizational compliance within departments and information systems. The position serves as a role model for change and provides support to Beebe Healthcare's performance improvement initiatives, working to improve quality, safety, customer experience and financial performance of various clinical, operational, administrative and support functions as they relate to accrediting and regulatory compliance.

    Responsibilities

  • Assure compliance with all Joint Commission and CMS standards and Conditions of Participation. Provide guidance and advice to the Executive Staff, Directors, Supervisors, and Managers, as well as Service Line Teams and the Medical Staff Leadership. Management of activities necessary to remain in compliance with Joint Commission Accreditation Standards and Rules as well as CMS Conditions of Participation.
  • Conducts and oversees frequent audits through observations and utilizing tracer methodology in all areas throughout Beebe Healthcare in order to meet Joint Commission and CMS compliance.
  • Liaison between Beebe Healthcare and Joint Commission, State Department of Health (Office of Health Facilities Licensing and Certification (OHFLC)), and other regulatory agencies as required.
  • Works with organizational leaders in the Joint Commission accreditation & readiness operations, CMS Conditions of Participation compliance and readiness. Identification and/or development of task-specific systems and ad hoc teams to coordinate actions for implementation and follow up to achieve compliance.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert in knowledge of Joint Commission Standards and CMS Conditions of Participation through continuous self-education and improvement of knowledge in specific regulations.
  • Provides an analysis of the organization's readiness and identified areas of improvement to Leadership on an ongoing basis.
  • Facilitates RCAs and FMEAs to assure that those conducted are thorough and credible.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • At least three years experience in healthcare and specific experience involving regulatory and/or the Joint Commission hospital accreditation program is required.
  • Effective communication, analytical, statistical and computer skills.

    Education

  • Bachelor's degree bachelor's degree in nursing or Master's degree in Health Related Field preferred.
