    At EDMO, staff members spend their time connecting with kids, honing leadership skills and making a real impact - all while rocking wacky costumes and getting pied in the face Our positions offer a unique opportunity to help kids uncover hidden talents, while pursuing your own personal and professional goals and passions.

    Spend your time developing translatable and transferable professional skills (like mentoring and classroom management) while growing social emotional learning skills side by side with the kids (like collaboration, empathy and problem solving).

    The Site Director is responsible for overseeing all things pertaining to their assigned comprehensive after school program.

    From pre-season training, to in-season program management, staff coaching and student and parent interactions, they manage every aspect of day to day operations.

    Daily program rotations include snack, outside play, homework help, and SEL and STEAM activities.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    Participating in any program training, professional development, or in season meetings
    Managing all aspects of daily operations for your site
    Training, and managing a team of Instructors (and Site Assistant if applicable)
    Managing host location relationships and specifications
    Providing high caliber customer service by anticipating and addressing any kid, staff or parent challenges and/or concerns
    Communicating with parents as needed, to make sure they are up to date on what their kids are experiencing at your program
    Ensuring all staff, children, and parents are safe and have a positive experience in our program
    Keeping site inventory and making sure that all needed materials are requested, received and kept organized
    Exhibiting the EDMO Vibe and demonstrating through actions and words each of the social emotional learning (SEL) skills of Self-Awareness, Problem-Solving, Advocacy, Collaboration and Empathy, while also reinforcing these qualities in staff and kids
    Performing any other duties assigned

    SUPERVISION:
    This position reports to the Region Manager and supervises the Instructors and Site Assistants if applicable.

    COMPENSATION:
    This is a full time, non-exempt position working 40hrs/week. The hourly wage rate will be commensurate with experience and location. The hourly pay range for this position is $28 - $30/hr depending on experience and location

    Requirements

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    Experience (and a love for) working with kids
    Experience working with youth of all ages
    Past involvement/experience in an after school environment as staff (or as a student)
    Experience hiring and managing a team of employees
    Experience working with a diverse team
    High sense of responsibility and dependability
    Experience talking and interacting with parents
    Skilled in problem solving, multi tasking, creativity and flexibility
    Experience facilitating groups of children and/or working youth programs with proven classroom management
    A large supply of costumes and/or a plethora of skits and songs in your back pocket is a PLUS

    EDUCATION:
    Must have one of the following:

    Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
    48 units of college
    Ability to take and pass the EDMO Instructional Exam

    CPR/ First Aid Certification is required by the start date. Certification must include an in-person CPR component. If you are not already certified, some compensation will be available.

    Vision:
    Ability to read small print and view a computer screen for prolonged periods.

    Ability to be understood in face-to-face communications, to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone or computer.


    Upper Body Mobility:

    Ability to use hands to grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.


    Strength:
    Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Incumbents may be required to physically restrain parties involved in a conflict.

    Environmental Requirements:
    Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors and outdoors.

    Mental Requirements:

    Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgment and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records.
