Form Energy is actively scaling up our manufacturing operations in order to commercialize our novel multi-day battery storage system.
The Operations Software Engineering team plays a critical role in this exciting phase of growth, including working with MES platform (Ignition/Sepasoft), ERP (Oracle), PLM (Arena) and related enterprise software systems, and developing in our AWS cloud environment.
Form uses 3rd party tools & services when possible, so your work will focus on solving problems unique and valuable to our operations.
Early projects for this role may include: integrating work instructions into MES operator interfaces, capturing and transforming data streams from PLC devices, or collaborating with systems integration partners to manage cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
This is a fast-paced startup environment and you will have the opportunity to work on various projects as you and Form grow.

What You'll Do
Create applications, services, and tools to support Form's operations, including the manufacture of energy storage products
Identify opportunities to leverage software to help operations teams get work done today and anticipate future challenges
Advocate for high-quality software engineering practices and lead by example
Collaborate with Operations teams, Product Management, and other Software & Analytics teams
Help establish early practices, procedures and policies on a growing team while collaborating with designer, PM, data engineer, or platform engineer peers when needed
Excitement for learning about the following (or bonus points for experience): batteries, manufacturing, IoT, supply chain, business operations, analytics, hardware engineering
What You'll Bring
2+ years of professional software engineering industry experience
Proficiency in development with Python or similar object-oriented programming language
Experience with one or more of the following: database systems, distributed cloud computing, pub-sub messaging services, OPC UA, web-based frontend development
Strong understanding of data modeling for performance and scalability
