    Shipping & Receiving Clerk

    Compensation: $ $18.00

    Shift: M-F 8-5

    Working Conditions: The AeroFarms facility has two areas: one is warm and humid: 80 degrees, the other is cold at 35 degrees. You are required to wear PPE provided by AeroFarms, including a facemask in the GMP/food production areas.

    Job Overview: As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk at AeroFarms, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our shipping and receiving department. You will be responsible for processing all shipping and receiving paperwork, managing inbound and outbound loads, and maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    1. Process Shipping and Receiving Paperwork:
      • Accurately process all shipping and receiving documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Record and maintain detailed records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
    2. Communication Management:
      • Answer all emails, TEAMS and calls related to the shipping and receiving department promptly and professionally. Effectively communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues.
    3. Load Scheduling:
      • Schedule inbound and outbound loads in coordination with transportation providers. Optimize load scheduling to maximize efficiency and minimize transportation costs.
    4. Labeling and Verification:
      • Assist in labeling receipts with accuracy and attention to detail. Verify the accuracy of shipments against accompanying documentation and report any discrepancies.
    5. Inventory Management:
      • Collaborate with the inventory control team to ensure accurate stock levels. Perform regular cycle counts and contribute to the maintenance of an organized warehouse.
    6. Quality Assurance:
      • Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures for incoming and outgoing shipments. Report and address any issues related to the quality of received or shipped goods.
    7. Safety and Compliance:
      • Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations in the shipping and receiving area. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety standards.
    8. Continuous Improvement:
      • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the shipping and receiving department. Actively participate in team meetings to contribute ideas for enhancing operational effectiveness.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics is a plus. Proven experience as a Shipping & Receiving Clerk or in a similar role. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. (Must be detailed oriented and organized.) Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficient in using shipping and inventory management software. Ability to lift and move heavy packages when required. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs. Must be able to drive electric forklift/pallet jack after training. Must be able to work independently and within a team. Must have time management skills to meet certain deadlines for shipping. Must have good basic math skills. Ability to use scales and computer.
