Description
Must Haves:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field
Valid drivers license with acceptable violation history
Able to pass drug and background screening
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Interest in pursuing a career within the engineering space
Plusses:
Drafting skills (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
Co-op, internship, or working experience at an engineering firm ("real world" experience)
Experience with proposals/reports
Experience in client facing roles
Technically inclined (computer skills) – will be assisting with rollouts of new reporting systems
Day to Day:
Insight Global is looking for an Engineering Assistant for a large Engineering Consulting firm in Greenville, NC. This individual will partner with and provide support to Engineering and Environmental staff on current and future projects. On a daily basis, this person will perform administrative tasks of a technical nature related to specific engineering or environmental projects, draft specific written report sections, and track project status and related contracts. More specifically, an Engineering Assistant can expect to gradually obtain the following responsibilities:
>Draft proposals and fee estimates for standard routine projects
>Maintain updates to project status including subtask timelines and deliverable dates including financials.
>Perform project registration and invoicing tasks.
>May prepare requests for information responses regarding design changes.
>May perform other engineering support tasks including development of drawings and directives for proposed boring and test pit locations and plans, preparation of boring and test pit logs/coordination of drilling, and field classification of soil and rock samples.
>Schedule and communicate with the client regarding project report status and delivery schedule.
>In summary, this individual will gain tons of exposure to many different engineering disciplines and business practices that go along with project maintenance through this role. They will be in direct support of the Project Management team and with that, the ideal candidate should be highly organized and motivated.
