Optical Technician Job Description

This is a full-time position in our optical lab operations, production, and patient orders. The successful candidate will offer exceptional customer service and proactively communicate with patients or vendors to resolve issues with lens orders.

• Order lenses and frames from appropriate labs or vendors based on vision plans
• Perform shipping functions efficiently and maintain records
• Routinely check products on order for delays or backorders and resolve issues

The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced environment and one to two years of relative experience. They must be able to meet department standards for productivity and quality, have good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination, and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

The working environment is generally favorable with adequate lighting and temperature. However, there may be noise from power-grinding machinery or other equipment. Employees are expected to stand for long periods of time while wearing safety attire such as goggles and gloves if necessary.
