    HOURS:
    Full Time, Day Shift, Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm CST
    The Diagnostic Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonography
    equipment to create necessary images and obtain measurements. Individual must
    maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique. Communicates
    with the patient and relays any pertinent information to the radiologist and documents on
    tracking sheet/chart. Communicates with the radiologist and understands and performs
    any necessary additional exams. The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.

    • Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
    • Produces high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for
    each exam

    • Documents all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly
    • Explains procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and
    cooperation

    • Appropriate monitoring during all phases of procedure with special care taken to
    insure patient emotional and physical well-being

    • Assist and/or chaperones radiologist when they are performing ultrasound exams
    • Assists radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures using appropriate sterile
    technique and universal precautions

    • Communicates patient information in a professional and courteous manner to
    patients and to referring physicians' offices as required.

    • Maintains the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and insures proper equipment
    maintenance and equipment safety

    • Maintains a good working relationship with Radiologists and other Center staff
    members

    • Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique;
    • Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health;
    • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees;
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions;
    • Must maintain patientfirst focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills;
    • Other duties as assigned
    Skills/Qualifications

    • Education: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is
    accredited by the Commission Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program. For
    breast sonography only, educational requirements will be reviewed on a case-by-case
    basis.

    • Certificates: Active certification with ARDMS (SPI only are not eligible for hire). ARRT-BS is acceptable for breast sonography only;
    • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography; ARRT advanced level certification in breast sonography and mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible; Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT;
    High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred;

    • Must possess nonrestricted licensure in state work location;
    • Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred;
    • Two years of experience in mammography is preferred;
    • Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred;
    • Prior quality control experience preferred;
    • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology;
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time;
