- Cleans grounds, empties trash, and maintains park cleanliness.
- Performs custodial duties for park restrooms and facilities.
- Assists in preparing sports fields for play.
- Coordinates daily operations of the spray ground at the park.
- Performs landscaping tasks such as mowing grass, planting flowers, and pruning shrubs.
- Assists with shelter reservations and park event setup.
- Addresses park maintenance issues as needed.
- Assists with special events and seasonal installations.
- Collaborates with Municipal Services on projects.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience in grounds maintenance and customer service preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Availability for weekend and holiday work.
- Understanding of park infrastructure.
- Ability to operate equipment and machinery.
- Capability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and explain policies to patrons.
- Physically demanding tasks involving lifting and carrying heavy objects.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions.

About the Company: The City of North Kansas City invites you to join their team as a Park Maintenance Worker. You'll have the opportunity to work under the direct supervision of the Park Supervisor and contribute to the maintenance and care of park facilities, athletic fields, dog park, and more. This seasonal position offers a chance to be part of a dynamic team until October.
Summary of Duties
This role involves routine maintenance tasks in park facilities and grounds. Duties include cleaning grounds, preparing sports fields, landscaping, assisting with dog park maintenance, and more. In addition, you'll provide general supervision of park users and facilities.
