What Youll Work On
The Receiving Clerk works within the Purchasing Department and with our freight companies to quickly and thoroughly check incoming boxes/products for damage. This position determines whether to send items to our Inventory Department or to other departments throughout Campbell Scientific, Inc. The Receiving Clerk works on their own and with others within the department to expedite items into our system to ensure items are checked into inventory. This position requires computer training to enter information about the product that is received. It also requires the ability to work effectively with other departments to meet their needs. The receiving process will be monitored and evaluated to increase efficiency and meet company objectives. The receiving clerk position prepares the individual to assume greater responsibilities in the Receiving Department. Other duties may include making the outside processing delivery/ pickup as needed.
in Materials Delivery/Receiving, the employee will drive a company vehicle delivering our parts to the appropriate suppliers for processing and return finished product back to our facility from outside processing. This is done a minimum of twice per week and other deliveries and pickups will be made as needed with little notice. The Receiving team also assists in putting away all palletized and heavy items on the receiving dock each day or relocating them to appropriate inventory areas. This will require forklift certification and ability to lift heavy items. When these responsibilities are completed the remainder of each day will be spent helping the other Receiving Clerks unbox deliveries, receive items into our system, and deliver items to other departments.
Youll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks
+ Receive, inspect, and deliver product from our freight companies and purchase orders we receive from outside fabricators.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
+ Report variances in packing slip and what is on the Purchase Order.
+ Actively participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities and training.
+ Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
+ Work towards advancement to Inspection and Receiving Clerk responsibilities.
+ Maintain a clean receiving dock by using a forklift to move palletized items to their stocking location or moving other heavy item by lifting and using carts.
+ Process product received from our freight companies.
+ Report variances between packing slip and purchase order.
+ Actively participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities and training.
+ Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
What We're Looking For
+ Previous delivery driver experience required.
+ Clean driving record.
+ High school graduate or equivalent GED certificate.
+ Work under the pressure of time sensitive deadlines safely without compromising quality.
+ Ability to learn computer processes for receiving in our ERP system.
+ Effective English verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
+ Attention to detail.
+ Work alone or in a team environment.
+ Able to accept constructive coaching pertaining to performance and implement necessary adjustment.
+ Maintain proper upkeep of work and department areas.
+ Forklift and Scissor lift certification (will be given by CSI).
+ Forklift Certified or previously Forklift Certified, preferred.
Work Environment
Light manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs. of equipment over short distances as needed during fulfilling job responsibilities.
