    Description

    POSITION: Junior Engineer

    GRADE/LEVEL: Engineer I REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering

    PRIMARY TASKS:

    To work in all aspects of liquid crystal, optics manufacturing, and development under the direction of Production and Engineering. This includes building and testing of prototype parts, maintenance of all project related paper work (engineering drawings, data collection, process notes, procedure development, etc.)

    ESSENTAIL FUNCTIONS:

    -Strive for continuing quality and manufacturing improvements

    -Keep up with production schedules

    -Record and track process yields and data

    -Build and test production parts as well as prototype products and equipment

    -Testing of all products to ensure quality process control

    SKILLS NEEDED:

    -Ability to communicate effectively with engineering and technician

    -Knowledge of and ability to test and assemble all standard catalog parts

    -Ability to accept and follow directions

    -Ability to log accurately engineering and production data

    -Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word)

    -Matlab, Labview, and/or SolidWorks experience preferred

    EDUCATION:

    -1 year experience in optics or related field

    -Minimum 4 years College in a Physics/Engineering curriculum

    PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

    -Good dexterity (hand-eye-coordination)

    -Solid communication skills

    -Strong math skills

    -Good organizational skills

    -Be able to move from department to department with minimal interruption

    of workflow, i.e.: Multi-Task.
