- Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Practical Nursing or the appropriate state board for service providers as a practical nurse OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
- Provides direct patient care to promote comfort and return to functional health.
- Performs therapeutic procedures as necessary.
- Observes, records, and reports patient concerns and progress.
- Assists physicians and Registered Nurses with examinations and procedures.
- Administers medications and assists with patient education and rehabilitation.
- Documents nursing interventions accurately and safely administers medications.
- Accepts accountability for delegated care and consults with supervising Registered Nurse as needed.
- Heavy work includes lifting, moving, and standing for extended periods while carrying heavy weights.
- May involve working in varied conditions such as around biohazards, infectious diseases, or deceased individuals.
- Ability to work closely with others and around various hazards associated with patient care.
