    Boston College is seeking an experienced athletic maintenance staff member to provide clean and safe facilities for athletes and the public.

    Job Description

    This is a split Tuesday-Saturday shift from 7am-3:30pm. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor, Fields, Athletic Maintenance.

    • Maintain natural grass surfaces by spraying and spreading fertilizer with spray rig and spreaders,
    • Repair irrigation systems,
    • Paint field markings,
    Athletes& recreation areas including tennis courts basketball courts arena maintenance.rink floor setup breakdown.
    Daily tasks include trashing blowing mowing trimming painting sweeping raking shoveling tamping carrying bags measuring cleaning pushing spreaders climbing ladders light mechanics weeding general work assigned manager.Maintain common areas grass playing surfaces safely operate golf carts Toolcats skid steers mowers blowers aerators vehicles forklifts top dressers infield groomers sprayers.Applicant must be able read diagrams written verbal communication.Proven ability work communicate well staff Athletics Department BC Facilities Services students athletes coaches vendors.Must be able work extreme cold hot weather.Suitable candidates primarily assigned athletic fields but may support contribute arena rink maintenance time.Requirements:
    • Current Massachusetts driver's license required
    • Current Restricted Pesticide License preferred
    Preferred qualifications include minimum one year working in golf or turf industry degree in Turfgrass related field strong mechanical skills troubleshooting experience operating equipment vehicles snow removal machinery ice resurfacing machinery.
