    Description

    Job Description and Duties

    • This position supports the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission by independently planning, coordinating, and conducting investigations throughout California of complaints of abuse and unprofessional conduct against healthcare professionals.
    • The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) evaluates criminal offender record information obtained from various sources, conducts interviews, analyzes investigative findings, and makes recommendations for disciplinary action.
    • The AGPA may be required to testify at hearings and criminal proceedings related to their investigations.
    • Statewide and overnight travel for investigations, training, and meetings is required up to 20%.

    The AGPA reviews and applies California laws and regulations, communicates with state and Federal agencies, and coordinates disciplinary actions against healthcare professionals.

    The incumbent works under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I).

    Teleworking may be available for this role, in line with CDPH's Telework Policy and Procedures.

    Special Requirements

    • All employees in the Investigation Section (IS) of the Licensing and Certification Division (L&C) must submit fingerprints for clearance.
    • The Department may receive subsequent arrest notifications until an employee terminates their employment.
